Denise,
ReplyDeleteI think as early childhood professionals it is important for us to see how other countries are trying to incorporate quality into the early years so that we can fight for the same things in our country as well. I know that sounds very "keeping up with the Jones" but that is unfortunately how our country seems to operate. When we show that nations all over the world are working towards quality that may help the professionals in our country with our plight as well.

Denise,
ReplyDeleteI think it's great that there are organizations like UNESCO that are promoting equity and excellence around the world. It's important to have a united orgranization that is willing to lead the way to end so many of these inequities in education around the world. Thank you for sharing what you learned about this organization and their work.
Denise
ReplyDeleteI reviewed the UNESCO site for my blog post too. I did not come across initiatives or interventions for the United States. To be one of the wealthiest countries in the world, the inequities across healtcare and education appear disproportional to our wealth. I wonder if internationalorganizations like WHO and UNESCO hold the U.S. accountable like they do other nations.
